Situated in the Machakos hills, 5,400 feet above sea level and 40 miles from Nairobi, Kuota is a beautiful thatched colonial style house, built in 2002. It is set in fifteen acres of land that forms part of a 7,500 acre former cattle ranch and its garden and pool form an oasis from which to see a wonderful variety of bird life. Impala, Thompson Gazelle, Kongoni and Giraffe roam over the unspoiled African countryside around.

Prices
Prices are available on request only.
Rental periods are normally Saturday to Saturday. However to suit flight times from Europe this may mean Sunday morning to Saturday evening. Other arrangements may be possible in the low season. Two additional guests can be accomodated (without en suite bathrooms) at the pro rata rates above, less 15%.

Useful information
Dietary preferences are discussed with the staff on arrival- Normal UK GSM mobile phones operate well in the vicinity of Nairobi
- There are areas around the house where a signal can sometimes be obtained
- Local airstrip (8 minutes away) for up to 12-seater turbo-prop planes
- No dangerous animals in the adjacent 7,500 acre ranch
- Daytime temperatures range between 23ºC and 31ºC
- Evenings are cooler and a log fire is lit
- The staff receive good pay, are well motivated and will appreciate your thanks and appreciation. As a consequence, and to avoid any problems, the owners have a strict no tipping policy
