Belvedere Travel provide accommodation for independent skiers.

General.

Belvedere Chalets, part of the Belvedere Travel portfolio consist of a group of privately owned chalets in the Belvedere 1600 area of Meribel in France. Belvedere Travel co-ordinate reservations between the owners and the clients. The Belvedere team will, to the best of their ability, advise clients on which chalet will best suit their needs.

Booking Terms

A contract exists between the client/guest (the Party Leader or the person making the booking) and the owner of the chalet concerned once the client has paid a 25% deposit to Belvedere Travel at the address above and an email of confirmation has been received by the client from the Belvedere Travel Office. (See below for payment details). The person making the booking guarantees full payment to the owner for the total cost of the holiday booked and does so on behalf and with the consent of the rest of the party. Any changes in the numbers of guests in a party must be agreed with the Belvedere Travel Office in advance and any additional guests paid for in full before arrival.

Payment

Payment, by cheque or bank transfer, should be made directly to the individual owner of the Chalet through the Belvedere Travel Office at the address above. (Details will be supplied at the time of booking) The owners reserve the right to re-let the chalet to another party if the cheque for the balance, due eight weeks before the holiday commences, is not received by the due date. In such a case, the deposit may be forfeited.

Cancellation

Charges: If it is necessary to cancel a holiday, for whatever reason, an email or letter of cancellation from the Party Leader is required. If this is received by the Belvedere Travel Office more than eight weeks before the holiday commences, just the deposit will be forfeited. If received within six to eight weeks of the commencement of the holiday 50% of the whole cost of the chalet rental will be refunded. If received within three to six weeks of commencement, 25% of the cost of the chalet will be refunded and, thereafter, (within three weeks of the holiday commencing), the whole cost of renting the chalet will be forfeited.

Insurance

It is required that all guests staying in any of the Belvedere Chalets are fully covered by their own holiday, winter sports and medical insurance. On their part, the chalets' owners have taken all reasonable steps to ensure the security of the chalets and the safety of their guests. The chalets have security codes to gain entry. Chalet Moguls are situated in a secure domain with a security-coded barrier. Security cabinets are provided in all the chalets. The owners take no responsibility for any guests' losses.

Arrivals and Departures

The chalets are available after 4pm on the first day of the holiday and to be vacated before 10am on the final day. If guests arrives in the resort earlier than 4pm, the chalet staff concerned will harbour their luggage for the day. Likewise, if anyone stays in the resort after 10am on their final day, the staff will store the luggage during the period concerned.

Staff Day Off

The two resident chalet staff have one day off per week. On this day, breakfast will be prepared by the part-time staff (boiled eggs, porridge or continental.) Afternoon tea and cakes will be laid out as normal and the chalet will be cleaned in the usual way. Guests are required to make their own arrangements to dine out that evening.

Drinks

Pre dinner drinks are served from 7.30pm on six evenings of the week.  These include champagne and drinks of your choice. Wine is served through dinner. Guests may bring their own bottles of spirits to the chalet or can buy house wine at cost price + 15% if they would like to drink before 7.30pm and after dinner.

Smoking

Belvedere Chalets have a no smoking policy in all rooms except the sitting rooms and dining rooms. Chalet Valentine has a NO Smoking Policy throughout the chalet.

Animals

We regret that Guests animals are not permitted in any of the Belvedere Chalets.

Guests' Responsibilities

The chalet staff will, within reason, assist with the booking of guides, ski school, ski passes and equipment hire, but all these remain separate contracts between the guests and the service provider concerned. Guests are required to settle all bills promptly, both with the chalet staff and with local businesses, before departure.

Guests undertake to behave in such a way as not to disrupt the enjoyment of others, including local residents and other guests, or in any way harm the reputation of the owners concerned. They are expected to treat the chalets and the staff with due care and consideration. If guests damage any of the contents or structure of the chalet, they are responsible for all costs incurred, to be settled in full before departure. In such event, the chalet manager will oversee and, if necessary, have repairs carried out or will purchase anything that needs to be replaced; copies of receipts will be provided. If the party involved are considered too unruly by the staff, the owners reserve the right to evict the whole party, without reimbursement.

Complaints

Complaints by the guests should be raised with the chalet staff, as soon as they become apparent. The staff will endeavour to rectify the problem if it is within their control. If it cannot be resolved in the resort, the Party Leader is asked to contact the Belvedere Travel Office within 28 days of the end of the holiday. Any complaints will be passed immediately to the owner concerned.

Jurisdiction

These conditions and any contract they imply are governed and construed in accordance with English law and are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
